Fit-and-flare wedding gowns have the least dramatic flare of any flared wedding dress styles. Flaring out just below the hip, the flare of the skirt is larger and wider.

When having your mermaid wedding dress altered, make sure your seamstress leaves enough room for you to comfortably sit and walk. Walk one foot in front of the other and wear shoes you’re comfortable walking in.
