Wanting to keep her bridal style simple and not too blingy, bride Kerry chose an incredible matter lace and crepe dress from designer Stella York – and she looked stunning! After a very sweet proposal involving some rowdy 3rd graders, Kerry and Adam said \u201cI do\u201d on a beautiful June evening.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Proposal<\/span><\/p>\n

The proposal was a complete and total surprise! I am a 3rd-grade teacher and teaching is something that I am super passionate about. I met my now-husband at The Ohio State University where he watching me fall in love with teaching. He knew that it was so important to me and wanted to incorporate that into our proposal. He got in touch with some of my fellow teachers, without me having any idea. With their help, and the help of my principal they planned the most perfect proposal. On a Friday afternoon, my principal pulled me out of my classroom and the teacher across the hall watched my class while we went to her office to talk about how my first year of teaching was going.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking back I should have been suspicious but I was so into the conversation while also thinking in the back of my mind about all the things we needed to finish up in the classroom before packing up to go home. My principal walked with me back to my classroom, meanwhile I still I absolutely no idea what was going on. When we got to my classroom the door was closed. The outside of my door was covered in pictures of Adam and I going back years. There was also a chalkboard sign that said: “Will you marry me Miss Godsil?” They opened the door to my classroom and there Adam was down on one knee with a ring. Of course, I said yes and after Adam gave me a hug I was surrounded with a big group hug from 24 cheering 3rd graders. It was amazing!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the year, I made memory books with my class and almost every student put Miss Godsil getting engaged as their number one memory from 3rd grade. Not only is a special day that I will remember forever, but a special day in my class from my first year teaching will always remember.<\/span>\"stella<\/p>\n

Finding the perfect Stella York wedding dress<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

My bridal style was more simple, I wanted something that was stunning and different that stood out without too much bling or being too flashy. I was going for something with a floral lace and crepe bottom that fit my outdoor\/garden\/bohemian theme. I thought I always wanted a lace top with a crepe bottom dress because it was something different while also having a classic flare to it. I tried on some crepe dresses at the very first bridal boutique I went to, but they just didn’t fit what I was going for. So I continued my search at several different boutiques and tried on a variety of styles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"martina<\/p>\n

When I tried on <\/span>Stella York style # 6648<\/span><\/a> at Twirl Bridal Boutique in Kenton, Ohio it immediately stood out to me. It was classic but edgy at the same time. I fell in love with the style and could totally see myself wearing it at my outdoor reception. Even my mom, who usually has a very conservative\/classic style, fell in love with this dress. I knew it was the one for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The wedding details<\/span><\/p>\n

I wanted my wedding to be very neutral colors, with lots of greenery to fit my outdoor\/garden theme. My bridesmaids wore different style dresses, in color show me the ring crisp, from Show Me Your Mumu. I liked that they were all the same neutral color while also allowing each bridesmaid to pick a dress they felt comfortable in. I had white table clothes with lots of greenery and flowers on them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I also used a variety of mercery class on the tables as accents. The reception was held on a property that used to be an old horse farm. There were classic fences surrounding the property and lots of trees, and even willow trees, which I love. Being able to leave the sides up on the tent gave my guests a beautiful view of the property and all the trees\/greenery. My husband and I love being outside when its nice out spending time with our friends and family so being able to have an outdoor reception was perfect for us and exactly what we wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"stella<\/p>\n

My favorite memory from this day was dancing the night away with all my friends and family! I always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding under an open white tent with lots of greenery and twinkle lights. So when it came time to plan I knew to have an outdoor wedding comes with its own set of risks but I decided to go for it since it was what I had always dreamed of. Well, I got married on June 8th in Ohio.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading up to June 8th there was almost constant rain every day and every weekend. I was getting a little nervous but it stopped raining on Wednesday when our tent went up and didn’t rain again until Sunday after the wedding was over! We got so lucky, the weather was perfect and we were able to leave the sides off the tent to keep it open. The temperature was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, perfect for dancing the night away. The dance floor was packed and we spent the night dancing away until the wee hours of the morning. It was so much fun, I couldn’t stop smiling for days! I still smile thinking about how amazing that day was.<\/span><\/p>\n
